House Extension - Kensington

Location: Kensington, WA

Project Details: This exciting 107m2 extension was finished early 2019 and has since WON this years MASTER BUILDERS HOUSING EXCELLENCE AWARDS in the Best Alterations and Additions $200,000 - $250,000 category. Its great to be recognized for our attention to detail, but even more happy with how much the clients love their new space.

House Extension - Warnbro

Location:  Warnbro, WA

Project Details:  This was a great way to increase the value of the clients current home and provide them with a space that worked well for their family. The clients required an additional room, wardrobe and ensuite added onto their existing home.

To save costs the client hired their own painter.

As the family continued to live in the house while construction was occurring, we ensured the original walls were not removed until construction was completed so the house remained safe, secure and fully lockable.

Lift Extension - Mount Lawley

Location: Mount Lawley, WA

Project Details: Remove external building elements in a way to ensure the house stayed water tight and secure until the new lift was installed.

We installed a new concrete reinforced floor with timber frame infills between columns that were cladded with blue board and lined with gyprock inside.  To carry out these works the gas and power metre needed to be relocated, in addition to that a new service hatch was installed to accommodate the lifting equipment.

  • Internal framing and bracing

  • Framing for louvers

  • Negative detail to eaves

  • Cladding exterior walls, columns and roof (supaboard)

House Extension (Stage 2) - Wembley

Location:  Wembley, WA

Project Details:  Stage two works at our Wembley job was completed prior to Christmas 2019.

This comprised of a complete remodel of the existing kitchen, laundry and living. We removed the existing concrete floor and raised the roof to the old enclosed laundry to make way for the new location of the kitchen. Numerous steel beams where required to take the weight of the second storey where walls had been removed to open the space. We were able to do this while the client remained in the house due to our first stage works that gave them a new bedroom, W/C and laundry which acted as a makeshift kitchen.

Beautiful cedar joinery was cut into existing walls to add loads of natural light and give easy access to the once hidden pool area. A jarrah deck was built surrounding the pool, complementing the recycled jarrah floorboards inside.

It was a pleasure working with the clients on this one. It shows how careful planning can enable you to stay in your property while we transform your home with minimal disruptions.

House Extension (Stage 1) - Wembley

Location:  Wembley, WA

Project Details:  This project has been separated into two definitive stages, enabling the clients to remain in a fully  functional house during construction

Stage one consisted of the demolition and replacement of an old bedroom that originally was an  enclosed porch. Along with a new water closest and the removal of an old pantry and fridge space to  construct a new laundry as going forward into stage 2, the existing laundry will become a new kitchen.

Asbestos was located during budget stages and during demolition in enclosed locations, having asbestos  awareness training meant the asbestos was identified early with all safety precisions taken to ensure the  workers, owners and neighbours were at no risk when the asbestos was removed professionally

visible, also providing a seemly transition between new and existing.

It was ascertained early that the client wished to keep the character of this 80s style home, so to achieve this we kept the high ceilings with decorative cornice, cedar joinery and jarrah tongue and groove

flooring. Again, providing a clean transition between new and existing.

Bathroom Renovation - Wembley

Location: Wembley, WA

Project Details: Complete demolition of all bathroom elements enabling new waterlines to be run to different locations. Old patchy concrete floor was removed with new slab with set down for shower.

Old cupboard removed to enable new door location inside a timber framed wall.

New floor and full height tiles with new bath, vanity and window. This once small tired bathroom was brought back to life within 2 weeks.

House Extension - Cottesloe

Location: Cottesloe, WA

Project Details:  This job was undertaken by another well organised builder, however DGR Building Solutions were engaged to push the job along and to aid the builder to meet client deadlines.

The entire structure had a second level added to take advantage of the picturesque views over Cottesole beach. The floating floor method was used to mitigate the sound disturbance to the residences below, insulation was also installed for this very reason.
